Campaign Story
Kai Appleby is my brother, I am trying to help get him over to Australia to fulfil his dream. He is 18 years old and has been invited over to Australia to play cricket. This is a wish that he has had since he started playing at Whitstable Cricket Club 6 years ago. He plays wicket keeper and is one of the top batsmen for Whitstable 1XI. He is also vice captain for that team and he is captain for the U19's. Kai also plays for Kent, appearing for Kent 2XI and also Kent Academy. Kai also teaches a range of ages at Whitstable and Eastern Vikings and is currently taking his Level 2 in coaching.
Kai has represented Kent for the last 5 years and is looking to further his career abroad as a player, coach and a captain. Kai has been invited to go and play for Newcastle City CC in New South Wales near Sydney, Australia this September. This is a huge opportunity for him and we are trying to help raise money to make this happen. He will be out there for 6 months and he only has to raise his air fare and work visa costs. He has been offered accommodation, a coaching job is there for him and obviously playing the game he loves.
Kai is a full time student at Canterbury Academy where he is part of the Elite Sports Programme for Elite Cricketers. He is already saving his own money, but as a student, his funds are very limited.
We are looking to raise £1500 so if anybody would like to help us make his dream come a reality, then we would be ever so grateful.

Wasn't it Kai who bowled me out first ball behind my back with a befuddling leg-break a couple of years ago? Never seen anything like it before or ever since! All the best to you, Kai! Gareth, LCC
