Let’s get Faith to the Official Strongwomen Games in Daytona Beach, Florida USA

Hello!

I have been invited to participate in the 2019 Official Strongman Games in Daytona Beach, Florida, US from 1 to 3 November 2019. I’m an ordinary person, but it’s not a competition that just anyone can participate in. You literally have to be invited by the selectors and must have shown dedication and commitment to the sport, with clear evidence of daily effort to improve yourself as a Strongman athlete.

I hope to compete to be the world’s Strongest Woman. I also would be the first black South African woman in history to participate in this prestigious event. As you can imagine, this is a very big deal for me.

I have been moving trucks, tractor tyres, and unspeakably heavy yokes and logs for a while now and I love it. It’s become part of who I am. It’s my passion! It all started when I discovered weightlifting and bodybuilding a few years ago.I’d dabbled with a few sporting codes to lose weight, keep fit and become physically and mentally stronger as a young woman in my 20’s.I was determined not to succumb to obesity, depression and chronic disease like so many people of my generation. I wanted to have a stronger, fitter body. Sport was the answer. I realized that my strong body actually strengthens my mind and spirit too.

When I discovered Strongman, I felt like I was coming home.It’s not just about the physical stress and strain that you put your body through, and the feeling of accomplishment when you do so.It’s more about the sense of community – your team mates spurring you on to be better, stronger, and invincible. I have been injured, I have had setbacks, and I have sometimes even come third!My Strongman community has kept me motivated.

It would be a dream come true for me to participate in this event but there is no possibility of sponsorship within the African Strongman Union, and therefore I turn to you for help. Help me make my dream a reality. Your donation can enable me to participate in the competition that most sportsmen and women who follow this discipline would give their left pectoral (and even their right one) to pursue.
