Campaign Story
On November the 12th 2015 Ewan was diagnosed with Pilocytic Astrocytoma. A brain tumor in the mid brain.Originally suffering headaches and referred by his GP for lid lag in his eye . He was sent for scans at Royal Preston Hospital and sent straight to Royal Manchester Children's Hospital where surgeons performed the first operation on the 14th of November to drain excess brain fluid which built up from the Tumor blocking the path around the brain. On the 16th of November they performed a second procedure to remove the Tumor . After 8 hours they removed 50% with 50% remaining. Ewan was given regular scans and check ups however suffered focal seizures leading to the diagnosis of epilepsy. In July during his routine checkup, scans showed that his tumor had grown. The Christie hospital advised chemo with a 30% chance of working or Proton Beam Therapy which can only be performed abroad, Ewan was referred and accepted to Procure Proton Therapy Centre in Oklahoma City. The NHS will fund 2 parents and Ewan leaving his two brothers Scott and Marshall . The treatment lasts 9 weeks I have decided to stay with the other boys and fly out on the 5th week so I can see Marshall to his first day at school. Ewan's dad Ben is going for the full time . It is Ewan's 11th birthday while he is away we wanted to keep the boys together as surprise for Ewan and raise money for flights to make this happen ! We have 9 days to make it happen with your support please donate to his fundraising page by sing the DONATE BUTTON xxxxx
