Magdalena (Lennie) Santiago Babiker is my best friend of nearly 40 years. We graduated together as Registered Nurses (class of 1975) from CLEC in Cabatuan City, Philippines. In 2002, she suffered a debilitating stroke that left her as a quadriplegic and unable to care for herself. Without the aid of a 24 hour caregiver, she is helpless and cannot complete normal daily activities. Lennie is 59 years old and currently lives in Yuma, AZ. She has no children, and her only family is in the Philippines.
I recently discovered that her current home will be repossessed by the bank in October, and she is on the waiting list for a low income/public housing. She is unable to pay for her electricity bill and cannot buy food for herself. Her current caregiver stays with her without any compensation.
Although she is gravely sick, she has never asked anyone for help. I ask that anyone please help my dearest friend by donating or sharing this link on how she is in need of assistance. All money raised will go towards her medical needs and living necessities.
