Campaign Story
Here is my 16 years old nephew, Lenin Labian. He is the first born of 5 siblings.
When I was his age, I was having the time of my life. I was forming new groups of friends, started having some freedom as I ventured into university. I am sure you had the same fun memories at this age.
Sadly for Lenin, this has been a painful year. Since January of 2019 he has been in and out of different hospitals due to his Primary Mediastinal B cell Lymphoma. It is a rare subtype of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. Lymphoma is a cancer that begins in the lymphocytes; these are cells that our immune system uses to fight infections. These cells can be found in the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus, bone marrow, and other parts of the body. Lymphocytes change and grow out of control when you have lymphoma.
To cure this cancer he needs to undergo 6 cycles of chemotherapy every 21 days or so. Lenin is currently being treated at Philippines General Hospital in Manila. The cost of his chemotherapy treatment is roughly PHP2,000,000 (SGD52,000). This is a huge amount and is difficult to produce within 4 to 6 months.
To make things worse, his father (my brother) is also critically ill and is unable to provide financial help while his mother recently lost her full time job.
We have already pooled all our resources and even took loans, but it is still not enough to cover all his chemo cycles in a very short span of time.
We kindly ask for your generosity to help Lenin to win the battle with his cancer.
