About
Do you have friends or family who are vegan, or gluten-free? How about the folks who are allergic to soy or nuts? Got an uncle who can't have sugar? Or is your buddy on a paleo or keto diet? How the heck do you please everybody if you want to have a dinner party?
Well, Lemonayo is your culinary solution! It was created to bring people together regardless of their dietary preferences, so that you can prepare a meal for your guests to sit around the table and be delighted by deliciousness.
Created by a Chef & Nutritionist
Karen is a classically trained chef, certified nutritionist, passionate fermenter, and founder of Kraut Source. For months, she worked obsessively on perfecting the recipe for Lemonayo because she wanted to create a culture-rich condiment that will make any dish more delectable and healthy.
Lemonayo is yummy, pairs with almost everything, and is really really GOOD for you. Yeah! It is way beyond just a spread. It is a nutrient-dense condiment that is also a symbol of community, sustainability, and our relationship with live-cultures (probiotics) that maintain good gut health.
Why is Lemonayo a Nutrient-Dense Condiment?
- It is fermented for a month to ensure development of probiotics.
- It is made with whole lemons, including the peel and pith, which is where most of the vitamin C and polyphenols reside.
- It is made with extra-virgin olive oil that provides omegas-3, 6, and 9.
- With each bite, you are getting probiotics, vitamins, minerals, flavanoids, essential fatty acids, fiber, and total satisfaction for your taste buds!
Why did Karen create Lemonayo?
Slow and Hand-Made in Small Batches
Making Lemonayo is a slow and careful process. In order to properly preserve the whole lemons, onions, and garlic, and to allow development of its unique, rich flavors, we must be patient and allow a batch to ferment for an entire month. Then we process each batch by hand and add in our special blend of spices, extra-virgin olive oil, and sesame paste. We taste test every batch and hand pack every jar ourselves.
