Legally blind, hoping to get laser sergery

My name is Sarah. Im 22 years old. I have been legally blind since I can remeber. Wearing glasses and contacts. If I do not have contacts in, or my glasses on I can only see blurred figures. For example I could tell that someone was 10 feet from me but I cant make out who they are until I get close. I onlt work part time right now, because of a lack of hours available at my job. Im am on my mothers health insurance but they do not cover corrective surgery. My top reason for wating this surgery is so I can no longer be dependent on glasses or contacts. If something were to happen and I did not have either of them for whatever reason, I would be very scared not being able to see.
