If you look around in whichever society you are in, you will see huge inequalities in terms social wealth distribution, social distribution of skills and opportunities, exploitation of the poor and unskilled, as well as many other forms of social injustice and inequality. The stark contrast between the rich and the poor are extreme.

The sad part is, many of the poor and underprivileged will likely remain so due to unequal opportunities to self improve or self develop. Especially in the area of skill building. Generally, the excuse of the elite of the society is always that "the poor is poor because they are lazy and unskilled". Refusing to admit that born from a privileged environment do play a huge role in determining one's fate.

A group of us, former professionals from (Social Services, Education, and Finance) had become disgruntled with the lack of social equity and injustice. Though we are supposedly from a privileged background, it is fast becoming a moral question on why we should sit still, idle and do nothing.

As a group initiative, we decided to start a startup that focuses on addressing these problems of social inequality. We believe in bridging the gap of social inequality through learning, upskilling, and granting opportunities for the poor, exploited, and underprivileged.

And so, "Learning Bridge" was born!

Learning bridge's main objective is to provide opportunities for the socially marginalized to grow and develop themselves into more than what they are born into. We specializes in:

1. Skills development - languages (spoken written in english, mandarin, etc) and technical skills (software programming, engineering, design, etc).

2. Self-grooming and self-presentation.

3. Cultural exposure trips for visitors who wish to know more about how local community live their day to day lives.

4. Create job opportunities for locals that we visit through us bringing trips from volunteers and others.

5. Create job opportunities for the poor and marginalize within our own community.

6. Public speaking skills and social interaction with others.

In short, we would like to empower them to be more than what we are. Our courses are offered FREE OF CHARGE to any poor who have a need and can demonstrate to us that they have been exploited or underprivileged.

For those individuals who wishes to enrol for our courses in support of our work, they may do so, and the course fee are charged at very minimal sum of money.

Below is our classroom:

We hope to help as many people as we can.

Some our cross-cultural trips to developing countries:

1. Myanmar:

2. Tibet

That's me, giving a talk to raise awareness!

To sustain our initiatives, we need help and support regularly from donors or volunteers to keep our initiatives going. Financial help would be the most practical of them all as finances does change alot of things.

We hope to continue to raise funds for our initiatives always. For donors, we have a small thank you gift for you should you donate up to a certain sum of money for us.

Thank you for your continuous support and hope you will also practice a helping hand in your daily lives when you see the socially marginalized.
