Coconut Concealer – LASALLE Final Year Student Film

We're a group of BA(Hons) Film students from LASALLE College of the Arts and we are starting production for our film entitled 'Coconut Concealer'

'Coconut Concealer' is a film about cultural imperialism and capitalism complimenting each other to create colourism.

The story entails Joshua joining a skin whitening cosmetic company to investigate how the cream is made. The company is peculiar in their dealings and Joshua can sense the strangeness of the workers and the boss. Soon Joshua finds himself in danger as he uncovers the truth behind the company and needs to find a way to survive in this unfair corporate world.

Our teams honourable achievements include the Global University Film Awards (Hong Kong, 2022), Student Academy Awards - Semifinalist (USA, 2021), Crowbar Awards - Finalist (Singapore, 2021) as well as the Moving Images Festival (Cyprus, 2021)
