La’Toya’s starting over :)

The person behind the goal: Hello - my name is LaToya Lewis and I am 38 years old.  For the past 15 years, I've working in the Accounting field focusing on Billing for the top five Accounting/Law Firms.  I really enjoyed my career.  About five years ago, I started a career in Accounting in the private industry sector and LOVED IT.  I starting in about 2009 and in April of 2014 the company I worked for merged with another bank and my position was eliminated.  Althought devastating, I knew I needed to push forward and act quickly. What did I do? I acted quickly.  I knew I needed to push forward and be aggressive with my search for employment.  I was determined and very proactive with applying.  I starting temping for a few law firms. The problem I started to notice that it was getting hard to focus on the past debt that I accumulated while unemployed from April as I had current bills that I had to pay in order to stay afloat.  Ordinarily money wasn't an issue for my household but there is a saying, if you can manage little you will certainly be able to manage a lot.  I knew what I needed to do in order to stay afloat but my past debt was stressing me out.  My project has ended with this law firm and I'm praying something else comes along pretty quickly as to not accumulate more debt.  My vehicle is down because I owe back taxes and the registration and current taxes to register the vehicle will cost about $900.00 - I have a mobile that I use for applying for jobs and receiving calls - but owe a balance of $523 for that - graciously the cell phone company is working with me as I call in each week and make a payment but never enough.  I working really hard to pay off this debt, meanwhile also focusing on rent, food, and transportation for interviews. Final Thoughts I normally try not to stress as I know all things wil lbe worked out, but my goodness if I could get this from over my head - life could be just a little bit easier.  It's just really hard paying past debt, knowing you have to focus on current as well.  It is all my responsibility and I want to pay it, I do not want to have debt - it just really causes such stress when you know you are working your very hardest and the results are slim.  I know my situation is mino compared to many, but is certianly affects me greatly and any assistance you can give - will be greatly appreciated and paid back or foward.
