La Rosa Blu Cafe Covid 19 fund

La Rosa Blu Cafe is a family owned restaurant situated on Rosenhof rose farm in the Waboomskraal valley near George on the Garden Route, South Africa.

We employ a small team of staff members who rely on the restaurant and farm related activity as only source of income enabling them to support their families, most of them being the sole provider and single mothers.

The current situation regarding Covid19 in this area has resulted in a total shut down of all activities. We hope to soon progress to level 4 that will enable restaurants to deliver take away food to customers at their homes. This offers no relieve to us as we are situated in a rural area were food delivery is not feasible bearing in mind that we persisted on tourism that remains in shut down.

We have decided to rather make our facility and staff available to prepare free home cooked meals that will be delivered to the areas in crucial need of food. Especially children that were supported by school feeding schemes. With schools closed that support has fallen away resulting in children suffering. We all at La Rosa Blu Café hope to contribute towards supporting our deprived community.

We are appealing to you for assistance in order to meet our goal.

We have set our target to prepare and distribute a minimum of 200 meals per day with a budget of R25 per meal. This will include all operational cost such as gas, electricity, transport and salaries for ten staff members.
