My little nephew KJ has been in hospital for 2 weeks and is in recovery from his second major surgery at only 5 years old. He went into the hospital with severe vomiting and had been in hospital for a number of days before finally being diagnosed and requiring immediate surgery. The operation went well although they had more problems to fix than was expected. The operation was over a week ago now, and he immediately went in a rash from head to toe, so not only has he been trying to recover from surgery but he has now been diagnosed with a highly contagious virus that is taking its toll on the little dude even more than before so currently there is no end to his hospital stay in sight. He has lost a lot of weight having no food for weeks, his voice is gone, his patience and most all his energy.
I've set up this fund for a number of reasons other than just medical bills. It's also to help show him the world outside his small hospital room cares and is committed to seeing him get better. Please if you have the ability to donate, anything you give will be greatly appreciated. Every little helps in this difficult time. Even if you aren't able to donate but still want to contribute we will accept any kind of positive and happy digital media for him to see that will give his eyes and mind something else to focus on. Things like videos of photos that can take him on a digital journey outside the room even if just for a minute.
We didn't expect our strong little man to fall this ill and no one could have predicted the turns this sudden illness has taken him down. But I know my sister has been off of work and by his side this entire time hoping and praying for answers. We are all praying for him to get back to health and be his little spiderman self, climbing up the walls again. So far he has been in hospital for just over 2 weeks. He still hasn't eaten anything which will be going on 3 weeks so he's starting to feel really down and out of hope. All money donated will go towards on-going medical costs and maybe a creature comfort for him of some kind while hes in there to help boost his mood. Because at the end of the day he needs to feel like a kid again and a bit or happiness even if it's a little bit. I can't imagine what living nightmare KJ and my sister are going through right now so I'm hoping this will bring some extra help and support as they truly need it. He is on a drip and an array of all kinds of medicines and it helps but so far nothing has worked for the pain.
Thank you for reading this and for giving me the ablility to share our story with you. We greatly appreciate any and all help and support you can provide even if it's sharing his link to your family and friends to get his story heard. We want to show KJ the world is still here and we are all thinking of him. He will be notified of everything we receive for him in hopes it brings a smile to his face just to know there is a lot of people out there who care and are cheering him on all hoping for his fast recovery.
