Dear Friends,
As you know a Southern state of India, Kerala, is facing one of the worst crises in recent history because of the recent floods (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_Kerala_floods) which are due to the heavy rains continuing since July.
The death toll in the current spell of monsoon fury that worsened on August 8th has risen to 483. The extent of damage and loss can’t be ascertained yet as road communications to many areas are cut off and isolated.
Thousands of relief camps have been opened catering to the needs of millions of displaced people. Local government, military, NGOs, Youth and Fisherman community are working extremely hard extending their helping hands in the rescue and supply of relief materials and supporting logistics.
In any natural calamity of such a scale it is the poorest and weakest who are most affected.
We friends (Nagesh Rao, Kiran, Mukesh, Vamsi, Sandeep & Praveen) will be hiking Ben Nevis (Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the British Isles) TWO times in TWO successive days ( 13/10/2018 & 14/10/2018 ) and we are raising funds through this mission, to help few of those victims to get some basic amenities like food, water etc and also for the post flood recovery needs like restoration of electricity, cleaning the villages etc through this rough phase they are going through. We have a target to raise GBP 2000.00 and your support and compassion is much appreciated.
All funds raised collected will be finally transferred to "Government Of Kerala Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund" (https://donation.cmdrf.kerala.gov.in/) on 31st October 2018.
P.S. We are also
organizing Cricket and Badminton tournaments to raise funds for this cause. For
