Kenyan Widows school break food packs and school bag appeal.

The Widows Gift has been piloting our monthly meal programme in Kenya since February where 13 widowed families come together to discuss challenges and needs within their group.

The school break often comes with several financial burdens at once such as school fees, stationary and uniforms aswell as the additional food costs whilst children are home from school.

We would like to extend our help to our 13 families and 16 school aged children by supplying a £25 family food pack and a £15 school bag with stationary required for each child attending school the end of August.

Food packs consist of staple foods to help alleviate some of the financial burden for vulnerable families.

Each pack consists of:

5kg Ugali flour (£4)

5kg Rice (£4.80)

3ltr oil (£6.40)

Maggi cube (50pk) (£1.00)

2kg salt (50p)

2kg sugar (£1.85)

200g tea (£1.00)

2ltr concentrate juice (£2.10)

3ltr UHT (£2.50)

Total: £24.15

Our target of £670.00 will supply all of the above to our widowed families including fees, transport and volunteer expenses.
