Campaign Story
Studio Smijeha is the only Comedy Club in Croatia based in Zagreb. We opened in 2011 and since then never got any support from the institutions, city, state. We pay the highest taxes on tickets, we pay rent, utilities, everything neccessary to keep the club running. The club "created" more than 20 proffessional comedians and is developing the scene in Croatia on a daily bases producing more than 550 shows a year all over Croatia and Europe. We also created a comedy scene in Split, now called SplickaScena.
Please be noted that we do not make money out of the club, bar or production. We pay the fee to comedians so they can continue to thrive and to our employees and with what is left we pay all the neccessary bills and taxes to keep the whole story going. We decided to do this fundraising because otherwise we will need to close the club.
We do not ask a lot, just a small donation so we can keep doing our amazing job and if one day the state, institutions and the city aknowledge our work, we will pay you back. Now we can only give you free tickets for the shows if and when you come to Zagreb.
