The Cat Conservation Trust is a non profit trust which works with the smaller wild cat species in Southern Africa. These are the black-footed cat, african wild cat, serval and caracal. We have these species in captivity, several of which are rescue cats which cannot be released and have become part of our breeding programme. Offspring are mother raised and mostly released in the wild. Although we conduct tours of the cat enclosures at feeding times only (under normal circumstances), here is no direct interaction between the cats and the public.
Due to the worldwide lockdown, We have lost access to our well priced organic free range game meat supply as well as visitor gate fees which help fund the labour costs as we do not take (and did not) take volunteers. Our latest application to the lottery has also been turned down citing 'do not have anymore funds available' as one of the reasons. They no longer fund animal based projects.
Any amount, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated!
