Joslyn’s Bible School Fund

I am collecting funds for Joslyn Booysen to attend Bible College in January 2019. Joslyn has been living on the streets since the age of 12 and now at 33 has changed her life. She has completed her rehabilitation program of 1 year and her hearts desire is to attend Bible College next year so she can do missionary work. Please sponsor this wonderful lady that has come such a long way since I met her on the streets in January of 2017, still trapped in drug addiction and prostitution.

More about Joslyn

Joslyn is now 33 years old, and was born in Atlantis. Her mother ran away after having her, leaving her to be taken care of by extended family. She was sexually and physically abused from a very young age by a family member. At 12, she had to have an abortion as she fell pregnant from the same family member. After the abortion, Joslyn ran away from home, due to the continued abuse.

She was immediately recruited by gangsters who used her to sell and transport drugs. Besides selling drugs, the gangster used and abused her sexually, and put her to work as a prostitute at a later stage due to her age. She got the nickname “Money Maker” because she brought a lot of money in for the gangster. She became heavily addicted to drugs at a very young age, as this was the only way that she could cope and she eventually did anything she was told to do because she knew that good performance would be rewarded with more drugs.

By the age of seventeen, she was locked up for the first time and also found out she was pregnant again. She spent most of her pregnancy in prison but as soon as she was released, she went straight back to the only life she knew. The child was put in foster care. At this point Joslyn became a prostitute for the gangsters, bringing in even more money. All she really cared about at that point in her life were the drugs, because it was the only thing that took away the pain.

When I met Joslyn at the beginning of last year, she was still caught in prostitution and drug addiction and was standing on the road in Bellville, waiting for someone to pick her up so she could make some money. She was homeless and lived in a bush with other homeless people. But that night, God intervened and she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Saviour.

She has 4 children that she has not raised, but longs to have a relationship with them again. Her life has changed so drastically since she accepted Jesus in her life. God has started to heal all the pain and rejection she has experienced in her life, and the restoration that is taking place is so beautiful and such a testimony to God’s faithfulness and grace.

Please help with this wonderful cause and to help give Joslyn a future doing ministry work. She has a wonderful heart and longs to help other women that have been abused or are trapped in addiction and prostitution. She is already doing this now but with further education, she will grow into a mighty women warrior. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
