I feel very privileged to have this opportunity to travel to Borneo in August 2017, spending a month living in, and helping to regenerate the rain forest. Additionally, I shall be participating in numerous community projects including digging and building wells for water supplies, building schools and helping to rehabilitate orphaned orangutans. We shall also be helping to raise awareness of how littering can damage our environment. I shall be working with the local people to help protect and develop their environment. Our planet and it's future is of great concern and we as a generation need to take our responsibility seriously. I know that this experience will give me insight as to how, as an adult, I can continue to impact on our planets future as an environmental scientist.
Clearly, this comes at a financial cost and I am already fundraising through busking, babysitting and carrying out odd jobs. I have further plans to hold boot fairs, garage sales, cake sales, breakfast fry ups, sponsored events, bag backing at supermarkets and have already obtained support from my scout group.
The total amount I need to raise is £4, 170.00 and I would be grateful for any donations you can make. I am also running a blog through out the expedition and fundraising that you can see at:
Thank you, Josie
