For those who are unaware of the situation in Cape Town, Mitchelles Plain, more specifically the Pelican Park area, I'm here to tell you and implore your help.

Pelican Park is a community plagued by high unemployment rates, poverty, gangsterism, drugs, early pregnancy amongst teens and then even in this mire of no hope I've found people who are always giving of themselves to ensure the people around them have enough, that their neighbors kids are safe, that there are programs running during school holidays to ensure kids are kept busy and off the streets, these people are selfless in their actions.

Despite life's ravages impacting directly even on their own lives, with many of their own kids falling victim to crime related violence or becoming drug addicts, alcoholics and even becoming parents whilst they themselves are still kids. Even then these brave faceless people rise up for the people of their community. I know that there are many who can assure that what I am saying is true and that if you were ever in need; you could rely on them to be there for you.

Now it is time to be there for this community. I know everyone thinks that Government is handling the problem, but the fact is that nothing is being done, when families can no longer bear the brunt of their drug addict kids violence and continuous theft from home they throw them out onto the streets in order to protect the remaining family members. Pregnant teens are immediately encouraged to seek government funding to support their kids and themselves and this in turn only encourages them to have more kids so they can bring in more money. It's a common mind set here that thrives in the current climate of unemployment, no pc skills or any other skills to talk about.

What we want to do is open a Training Facility in the area and provide people with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the current job market. Knowledge of basic IT, word, excel, administrative skills and soft skills like listening, communicating are fundamental to seeing a change in this community. People's mindset cannot change here until they see and feel hope like the tangible force it can be. So please...............................

I ask of any who reads this to help out, in whatever way you can. To the kind strangers who will be making donations and contributions to the community who needs it most, now of all time, I say thank you very much.
