Jim Entrekin was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in September 2013 and has been undergoing treatment for 1.5 years now. The cancer, radiation and chemo therapy has caused other medical problems and he is currently being seen by an Oncologist, Cardiologist, Neurologist, ENT, Pulmonologist and Opthamologist. Currently he is undergoing continued treatment and must travel out of town regularly to the valley for all doctors appointments, and will be continuing chemo therapy every 2 months for 2 yrs following radiation.
Jim has always been the main financial supporter of their family. Since being diagnosed he has been out of work for 1.5 years trying to support their family on a small business Jim and his wife started 2 years ago . This business was started knowing that other outside income would still be needed to support a family in our small town especially through the winter months. Jim has been unable to fill this void in employment.
The family lost their health insurance last November, 2014 and Jim has been unable to be seen by any medical doctor since that time due to out of pocket medical expenses being too high. His condition is getting worse day by day. Currently he needs to have a PET scan as to determine the current cancer progression and must be seen by the Pulmonologist immediately. This PET scan is very costly and due to no insurance, it is unattainable without some type of outside financial support. The Entrekins are willing to provide all supplies needed to have a "ice cream fundraiser", by donations only, if someone is willing to provide a location and can help organize the event. Maureen works 7 days per week 80 hours per work and would need some desperate help with this project.
Please help this family in any way you can to get them through this tough time. Taking the financial stress from Jim and his family will be a great help in his healing and getting healthy again.
