Jennifer McCue’s Nursing School Tuition Assistance

I am looking for help to fund my nursing school education. I have a goal of $4,500, which will cover the cost of 2 semesters to get me started. This money will not only cover tuition, but it will also cover my books and accompanying fees.

To share a little bit about myself, I am 24 years old and live in northern Virginia with my boyfriend. My grandmother raised me from the age of 3, and she has had diabetes my entire life. I grew up learning how to administer her insulin and care for her. Now that my grandmother is getting older, she requires much more attention and care. I thoroughly enjoy caring for others, including my grandmother, and would be completely heartbroken if finances are what holds me back from achieving my goals.

I have been accepted to Chamberlain College of Nursing in Arlington, VA to receive my BSN and have also been placed on the waitlist for George Washington University (my top choice of schools). I am turning to donations because I have exhausted all other options for payment and am not fortunate enough to have a wealthy family to help me. With school starting in January 2016, I will need as much help as I can get to start making my tuition payments.

I am very proud because I was the first one in my family to go to college and currently have a bachelor’s degree in health science from James Madison University. I was an independent student throughout my undergraduate degree, and I worked an average of 25-30 hours per week to financially support myself, even with a full school workload. I have the commitment and passion it takes to make it through nursing school and I am certain that nursing is the next step in my career.
