In the wake of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami I carried out support volunteer work in Fukushima prefecture bringing food and water from Tokyo to the people who had lost their homes either due to the tsunami or the Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant. (See pictures)
Once again Japan has been struck by a monumental natural catastrophe in the form of Typhoon #19 (Hagibis) and this time the damage is over a much larger area. Recovery and returning the damaged homes and fields will take many months of work.
I will be going to Japan from the beginning of November to assist in the recovery efforts . Throughout my time as a long-term resident of Japan, I received assistance from the Japanese people with no questions asked and whenever possible I would like to return the favours given.
This campaign is to help fund my travel and any expenses needed to assist in the area (safety equipment, etc). Any amount beyond the goal will be donated the the appropriate local charity association.
Thanks for your help. I will send updates from Japan.
