Izzy’s Wish

"I know it’s very early, but we are looking to rent an RV for next summer in June. We’d like to find one that is in good shape, sleeps six and our son has a service dog. We will be driving to California and back and staying at KOA sites along the way. We have an idea of reasonable prices after doing some research and would like to set up payments ahead of time. This will be our big gift to our family for the holidays this year and we have never been able to take a family vacation in 23 years. If someone could give us an idea on where to find one locally, that would be great!"

The above is what my daughter wrote on Facebook, but what she didn't say is that her son is 18 and autistic. He asked to see the ocean, but we live in Kansas. I realize that we could go to south Texas to see the ocean, but we are originally from northern California and our concept of ocean is cliffs, rocky shores and crashing waves. So we want him to see what we grew up seeing as ocean.

My granddaughter still lives at home as my grandson's caregiver, so her parents can work to support their family.
