Hello, my name is Rachael. I've been accepted onto a 5 month traineeship with the Council of Europe in Strasbourg (France) starting from 7th September 2015. Unfortunately, the traineeship is not renumerated so I will have to fund the costs myself.   I am currently a full time student studying postgraduate law and working 2 part time jobs. I wish to practice as a lawyer in the fields of public/administrative law, governance, civil libertes & human rights. As such, the traineeship in Strasbourg would be an invaluable experience. I am a self funded student from a working class family, and the first member of my extended family to enter third level education.  I currently have 2 part time jobs. I work roughly 10-12 hours from Mon-Thurs with one job, and friday evening, Saturday and Sunday with the second job.  I am unable to take out a loan for the trip as I have already loaned £15,000 to cover my postgraudate fees for my 2 year course, of which the repayments of £127 a month will start in July.  Living costs combined with these repayments means it will be impossible to leave any money aside in savings for the traineeship. My family are not in a position to provide financial support. There are no trusts are charities to my knowledge that I can apply for renumeration. For me, this traineeship is such an exciting opportunity but I have absolutely no idea how I will fund my living costs. I currently have £400 in savings, saved over a period of almost 5 years. Usually, I have no money at the end of each money to put away in savings.  A traineeship at the Council of Europe is highly sought after. I managed to get accepted through experience I have gained volunteering at the citizens advice bureau, the witness service( part of Victim Support NI) and working with international erasmus students through my first part time job which I work on Mon-Thur. I have had to work extremely hard and long hours to fit in full time study, 2 jobs and volunteering through necessity and in order to gain the experience necessary for these types of placements and traineeships, but without charitable donations I will most likely be unable to carry out the traineeship.  In an ideal world, I find that roughly £4-5k would be the minimun amount necessary to live in Strasbourg for 5 months. This would cover: rent costs, heating, electricity bills, groceries, travelling to the Council for work and any unexpected or emergency costs such as medical care etc, whereby the majority of this money would go towards rent.  I would be very grateful for a donation of any amount. Each donation will count towards my ability to travel to Strasbourg. Thankyou.   More traineeship info - http://www.coe.int/uk/web/jobs/traineeships
