Hi, everyone. My name is Peter Pham. I am a software engineer and a seasoned entrepreneur. I got the idea for inSircle app from my need to communicate with my wife throughout the day to coordinate things at home such as taking the kids to school, picking them up after school, etc. She is driving a lot and, many times, she can't pick up the call. However, the story does not end there. After tackling the location sharing issues, we further make it an integral part of our contact apps, e.g. messaging, Internet video phone and meetup. Doing so will avoid people from having to switch app to share location while on a phone call or messaging; thus, further removing frustration for people who are not comfortable with navigating between apps, e.g. elderly, non-tech users, ....
Meetup has a different set of issues. Most common problem is when one or more participant of a meetup does not show up on-time for some reasons, leaving those present to wonder and worry. Another issue is when a group of people is going together for shopping or a large event, e.g. concert, sport, trade fair, conference, etc. How can they easily keep track of one another - before, during and after the event - to make sure every one is accounted for? 1. I have concern about privacy. Is that right the app allows anyone to locate me anytime without me knowing?
That's not true. We take user's privacy seriously. You are in full control of your privacy at all times. Your location is accessible to someone ONLY IF you explicitly allow them to. Also, at all times, you are fully aware of who is locating or tracking your location, and if you prefer, to block someone from locating you or tracking your location, temporarily or permanently. 2. Does it cost me anything to place a video call to my relatives in oversea, let's say, India?
Nothing. No per-minute charge. No monthly charge, whatsoever. Our video call is based on peer-to-peer protocol, aka. WebRTC. It costs us a little and it costs you nothing.
3. What about security, can you shed some lights?
Your location and message data are always protected with end-to-end encryption while on transit. For subscribers, the location and message data are also encrypted while on server's storage. You account is always secured because the app can logon only on the device with the phone number you registered.
4. I have iPhone, my wife has a Samsung phone, can I locate and contact her?
Sure, you can. inSircle app is available on iOS as well as Android phones. You can even locate and share location with other phones.
5. Why inSircle? What is your vision for it?
We believe location technology is extremely useful in solving many inconveniences and hassles in our daily life, not just to order a ride. However, the current location sharing apps are not user-friendly enough up to the level of mass adoption.
