I am a ceramic artist and I am about to embark on the next stage of my career. My name is Chrisoula Konstantakou and I currently live and work in Cardiff Wales. In early summer 2019 I was accepted into the Royal College of Art's research programme and I decided to run this campaign to support me with the initial costs of fees and material/studio costs.
Funds raised from my campaign will provide me with much needed financial support, helping to pay the first installment of fees for my research project into 2D laser technology on the ceramic surface which starts at the Royal College of Arts in London in September. I have developed a unique unconventional use of 2D laser technology in my ceramic art which I aim to further develop and investigate at PhD doctorate level. I will be exploring the use of 2D laser technology as a heat source on terracotta ceramics. It is a life-long dream come true to have been accepted at RCA.
I make bespoke terracotta vessels that have been decorated with a 2D laser tool which creates a spectrum of beautiful red tones and textures on the vessel surface. For your generous donation, I will create new pieces and have them delivered to the lucky winners of my draw(s) which will take place on the last day of my campaign. For every £300 raised, I will have a draw for one of my pieces. The winners will be notified promptly and I will post the vessels by end of October 2019.
