Inginqi Enrichment Programme

Background:

SA Memory Institute Trust is a South African based NPO that assist children in low income areas to improve their confidence and grades by teaching them to use the most effective study methods.  This benefits the learners and schools by improving their pass rate and better prepare learners for tertiary education.  Incorporated in the learning skills are effective reading, to improve literacy, and various memorizing techniques.  This initiative was endorsed by the Western Cape Education Department.

Project:

We are currently busy with a project for 8 Primary schools.  50% of the grade six students of these schools will attend extra classes after school where we provide them with these much needed skills - this will determine through scientific results if the control group improve more than the students that didn't attend our classes.  Our goal is to ensure that all of the grade 6 students of the current schools will be able to complete our programme before the end of 2014.  It is a 20 hour programme. We aim to provide the end results, with an external evaluation report, to the Education Department where they can start to implement our programme to every child in South Africa. 

Conclusion:
