“Im Adopted” – Student Film Project

I’m Adopted is a short film that aims to shed light on real issues such as adoption, dementia and finding one’s identity. While making it relevant for the youth, with motifs of social media and online influence.This film is really important for us as we hope that with this story, we can resonate with the youths of today through our film and touch many hearts as well.

The story follows Joan, a social media savvy teenager who discovers that she’s adopted and leaves home. Joan’s escapade begins when she meets a Filipino domestic helper, a Bangladeshi worker and an old man with dementia who mistakes them for his family. Determined to bring the old man home, Joan goes on a adventure with the trio. Through this journey, and with prompts from an anonymous online user, Joan finds herself and the true meaning of family.
