I am summoned in a frivolous lawsuit over forum, Twitter, and Facebook posts

I’ve been contacted both privately and here in reference to further assistance. As it stands, I no longer need monitay help at the moment. The site is open because I have not received my lawyer’s final bill, and also I do not know if this person will attempt to hit again. I’m out about 5k as it stands right now, but I can deal with that.

So basicallly, we’re all waiting to see who will need help, other than Christina who has an ongoing case. Shanna Raywood, aka Rebecca Hamilton, had served 6 or 7 of us out of 21 cross complainants, and then dropped charges in all of them in California due to losing three on venue. I was one of them.

I was served in a lawsuit by an author for making public posts in support of another indie author and donating to that indie author’s legal fund, where she was being sued for breach of contract. I have no option other than to respond, which is her intent, as stated by her, publicly in the screen shot above.

I live in Michigan, and this case is filed in California, so we need to secure representation in both states, or find a California lawyer. Collectively, she is asking for over $300,000 in damages from us, plus punitive damages.

My daughter and I have found a lawyer. Gary S. Pancer, Los Angeles, CA. His firm requires a $10,000 retainer. I need the indie community’s help and support. I know it’s the holidays. I know it’s hard right now, but I can’t do this without you. So, if you were victimized or bullied, but were fearful to take action, now is your chance. My daughter and I hope you will support us in our attempt to stop this kind of behavior.

I will use the contributions for legal fees only. I’m not out to make any money on this. So, if you support me, please keep proof in case I’m able to recoup the loss and can refund you.

I am not sure how long this will be dragged out, but I promise to be transparent. If you require proof of where your generosity is being applied, as well as the final outcome of the case, please leave me a means to contact you.

I know many of you are worried about retaliation, but the only way to beat bullies is to show them you won’t back down. Donate anonymously.
