On 3rd of October 2015 I am going to run Bear Grylls 10K Survival Race in Trent Park, London. You probably think "Hey, she must love running!" That's when the big "NO! NO!" comes in! I do honestly hate running and would rather do almost anything else instead! But what I love is RHINO and they can make me do almost anything! So, even that the race sounds like a nightmare and my current fitness level is far below average I am ready to do it because the cause is more than worth it!
You ask why?
You see, Rhino species across the Globe are being slaughtered for their horn. The species has only one real predator: HUMAN and thanks to us its on the verge of extinction. Poaching is drastically increasing from every year bringing numbers from 83 animals killed in 2008 to 1215 in 2014 in South Africa alone. This has caused the species to enter negative population growth phase meaning that more animals are being killed than born. At this rate, 10 years from today there will be no Rhino let in the wild and second largest land mammal will be just a legend which you can tell your kids for goodnight!
This is our last chance to save the species! The species who has a critical impact on our ecosystem by maintaining grasslands, reducing fire hazards and shaping the landscape. Species who is denied their only tool to protect their young and dig for water and forage. Species who is brutally slaughtered for their horn, worthless to us but so precious to them. Species who's calves are ripped out of them for sport or left orphaned, The species who are left to die in agony for hour after their horn has been hacked off while they were still alive...
What can you do?
Spread the Word! Raise awareness! Tell your friends and family about Rhino situation! Educate others on the importance of wildlife conservation and saving the Earth's fauna and flora before its to late!
And finally, if you feel that my cause deserves support and you would like to contribute to saving World's Rhino hit the donate button and you can be sure your money will go directly to protecting the Rhino!
What will the money go towards you may ask...
100% of the proceedings will be send to a small, family run reserve in South Africa where Rhino are a priority. Reserve where owners have sacrificed their whole life and private resources to breed and protect White Rhinoceros. The money will pay for petrol, essential monitoring equipment, repairs, maintenance of the land and specialized Anti Poaching Unit who guards reserve's Rhino throughout day and night.
THE MONEY WILL BUY FREEDOM FOR RHINO, IT WILL BUY THEM LIFE...
