Hunting Trophy for my sons 17th bday

Last year my son went hunting for the first time and caught his first deer. I sent the head and cape to a taxidermy. My original bill was almost $600. I paid for the cape ($85) for my brother (he was going to make fishing lures???) and to make Nick a shadow box. i paid a deposit of $100.

This was in October 15th 2017 right before his 16th birthday. A month and 10 days later, our world fell apart. My brother, my best friend passed away unexpectedly. I'm not trying to make excuses. I couldn't keep everything together. I changed jobs, stayed closer to home and started working in our school district making half the income i was last year.

I'm a lunch lady. I can honestly say i love my job and I'm grateful for the career change because my New friends/co-workers carried me for over 6 months. See my hubby and brother were also best friends. I couldn't let everything out around my hubby because it was too much. My co-workers... They truly carried me through.

I'm telling you this because I'm struggling with the loss of income and the guilt over not getting Nick's hunting trophy completed like i promised him.

My husband is also a county employee. He's been in law enforcement for almost 10 years.

Our jobs, are Our passions. We truly love going to work everyday and positively impacting Our community.

But!!! We have had to make sacrifices just like everyone else does. I however feel guilty for my son. He's an amazing kid. The only boy with 3 sisters. Honor roll, AP-classes, already taking college course as a high school junior. He mows his grandparents yard, the neighbors and will trim hedges expecting nothing in return. He's planning on majoring in business so he can be a contractor like his uncle who passed away. I'll be honest... I was hoping for an engineer or scientist cause he's Crazy smart but he loved doing demo jobs and remodeling houses with my brother before he passed. So business major it is!

I don't know if these things work but I'm going to try. I have to get the remainder of the money to the taxidermist 30 days prior to needing the mounting completed.

My son's birthday is November 10th, so i picked the date to pick up the mount November 5th.

This is my first time so any advice to be note successful in this campaign would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
