HUBC do the Boston Marathon

What are we doing?

  We have fielded a mens 4+ to do the gruelling 31mile course from lincoln to boston which involves negoatiating a lock midway through! This will be done on September 15th along with other crews from around the country.

Why on earth would we do this?

   HUBC struggle for funding and sponsorship, and to make matters worse we recently lost the bottom floor of our boat club along with all the basic amenities needed (to a fire) like running water, showers, electricty and toilets needed for the club to run smoothly! We've decided to do it to in order to raise some money to get HUBC back on its feet and kick start it and get the University year off to a good start! The fire happened in the summer of last year, and was started by an unknown group from the area. The boat club is shared with Hull Rowing Club which has a bunch of juniors trying to start there rowing career and getting these vital improvements done to the boat house would be a massive help to them as well as us! Because of money constraints we have not been able to fix anything yet, but we have managed to completely gut the bottom floor and get rid of debris ready for work to start!

UPDATE!!!: To make matters worse the boat house windowd have now been broken in an attempt to break in! Safe to say its not our year....
