Housing First Fundraiser

Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to read what this fundraiser is all about. We are raising money for the federal program, Housing First, which focuses on ending homelessness by providing homeless individuals, specifically those with long histories of homelessness and co-occuring health challenges, with housing as quickly as possible, and then providing essential supportive services. We are working with the Hope Center in Lexington, KY, who recently recieved a federal grant to provide housing to the chronically homeless using the Housing First program. However, this money is not enough to provide these individuals with household necessities, such furniture, kitchen items, toiletries, and any other essential items. This delays the move-in process, which then delays the help these individuals truly need. Our goal is to raise enough money to get all 20 apartments furnished with at least a couch, a table and chairs, dishes, and silverware so we can get these individuals the help they need as they begin their transition into a functional role in society and a healthier lifestyle.
