Hopeful and optimistic

Okay, where do we begin? Firstly I hate these things! Specifically because I hate myself for doing this.  Instead of asking for donations to/for some third world country for hospital supplies, I am instead being selfish and asking for help to fund my wedding.  It's okay yawn, I'm surprised you have read this far.  Well now to tell you about myself.  My name is Rebecca I recently turned 30. Now to tell you about how we met.  Me and my fiance Adam met 8 years ago in March, there was no fireworks or love at first sight.  In fact I wanted to kill him! He was cocky/arrogant and really got under my skin. For about year we exchanged sarcastic remarks until one of my old friends had enough and demanded that he either take me out or never come in my place of work again.   Well it worked 8 years later here we are!  Now your probably wondering why now? Why not years ago? Well the truth is we are already married, in our hearts that is. We never thought about it until recently, when Adam's nan became ill.  She remarked that the one grandchild she loved isn't married, we laughed but she was serious.  We both thought long and hard about it and we realised that's nan won't be around much longer in fact we would be extremely lucky if nanna was around next year. So this is why I am here, for my grandmother in law.  I want her at my wedding while she can.  It would break my heart and especially Adam's if we had to wait another year hoping she can hold on.  I looked at her the other day/Christmas day as she has been sick with some awful bug and ulcers on her gums, realising that look people get when they have nothing left. Adam has been saying she looked frail for a while but it wasn't until that moment I truly believed it realising I want her to see us get married. So I guess that's it really, you now know why I'm so desperate to officially marry the most important man in my life.  Adam and his family have brought so much love and joy to my life. So whether you donate or not thank you for listening to me, sometimes it's just nice to think someone else is out there hearing your voice.
