Candi and family CANCERvive!

Candi is a living miracle. Battling late stage ovarian cancer, she now faces physical and neurological side effects.

We are asking you to help give Candi the option to access lifesaving alternative cancer treatment options that are much more successful than the orthodox treatment options (chemo and radiation) she has had to go though several times during her fight.
The only thing standing in her way is the cost, since most of these alternative therapies are not covered by her minimal state issued health insurance, and the few medicines that are considered "covered" are not administered in any way that would benefit Candi or her condition.
The most promising options for Candi and her conditions are-- certain stem cell therapies, CMIT protocols, allogeneic lymphocyte immunotherapy, and a specialized regime of valproate and hydralazine. These all have a much higher response level and success rate for cancer patients like Candi that have gone through all of the major basic treatment options (chemo, combo chemos and chem-rad) without getting the optimal results needed. The opportunity to access these alternative treatments would literally be a potential life changing(and saving) opportunity. If we could give Candi the ability to access these options that are the most promising for her illness, symptoms and diagnoses, the improvement in her quality of life and the possibility of remission would be THE most important and greatest gift we could give not only Candi, but Candi's family as well.
Some of the worst side effects of the large amount of toxic chemicals (with the orthodox treatment options given) that were needed to keep Candi alive in the first few months of her diagnosis has taken a toll on her body. She has lost the ability to walk more than a few steps with a walker, and is now unfortunately dependent on a wheelchair to get where she needs to go. This is unfortunately has been diagnosed by three separate specialists as a possible permanent condition and Candi and Mitch are still getting used to this news. As any of you that are friends with Candi know that she and Mitch are currently residing in a small rv since her most recent cancer treatment began after her grandfather (who they shared a home with at the time) unexpectedly passed away. He was their biggest support, giving them a place to live in rent free in his home, he helped out with her copays and cared for Candi and took her to her appointments and chemo when Mitch would go to work. When he passed, they had to relocate immediately, and the only place they could immediately access was the small RV home they are still residing in. After Candi's diagnosis, the savings, credit lines and retirement funds were tapped dry very quickly, as the medical bills came fast and expensive. Those same bills are still continously piling up. A cancer diagnosis is an incredibly astronomical financial burden. And that doesn't include any alternative treatments, only out of pocket expenses and copays that can get overwhelming for anyone.
As strong and inspiring as Candi is, and has been throughout this battle, she and her family will need our help. We hope to raise money to fund her additional medical expenses that are not covered by insurance for her cancer treatments and the newer mobility issues she is dealing with such as, but not limited to, ongoing specialist copay costs, a motorized wheelchair, wheelchair accessible vehicle modifications, living space modifications, copays, deductibles, medications, the several totally out of pocket alternative medical options mentioned earlier for Candi's cancer healing and recovery, and the travel needed for these treatments and the rehab that will be necessary during and afterward.
