Hello Everyone! My name is Tracy Cook. First off let me start off by saying this is the hardest thing I have ever had to write. I do not want this to sound like a money hungry poacher letter. I pray that God will give me the correct words to say because in all reality I am completely at a loss…

So here goes……

My mother hasn’t been feeling the best and has been hoarse from some time now. She went to the Dr. and was diagnosed with a Sinus Infection but never got better. She had started developing a cough so just for precaution they ordered a chest x-ray. It showed that there was questionable spots on her lungs and that a CT Scan was recommended. On October 7, 2020 she had a chest CT Scan, that was the day that changed our lives forever. The results showed multiple pulmonary nodules with pulmonary metastases (CANCER). For those that do not know the meaning of metastases, it means that the cancer originated somewhere else. So, an Abdomen and Pelvis CT Scan was ordered. This was on October 8, 2020. The results showed that she has a large mass on her left kidney that has pushed into her spleen as well. There are also lesions in her Adrenal Gland that metastatic disease cannot be ruled out. She also has several enlarged lymph nodes in her abdomen that metastatic disease cannot be ruled out. They wanted to do more testing to make sure they had all the spots and decide plan of action. She had a Bone Scan and Brain Scan last week and Praise God they were normal. She had a follow up appointment today with Urologist and he is going to schedule surgery within the next 2 weeks to remove her Left Kidney and the tumor. My mother is 72 years old and not in the best of health so of course this is going to be a dangerous procedure.

We grow up thinking that our parents will always be a call away, that they will always be that first call when you run into trouble. We are so sure of that. We neglect reality. Today, I can say I continue to be the luckiest, and I will continue to be so for many years because I've been blessed with the best pair. Our parents are so vital in our lives that the simple thought of losing them paralyzes me.

Now that you know what is happening, let me introduce you to my parents. They are the most giving people that I know, they do not know the word 'no' when someone is in need. My parents are Danny, who is 71 and Janice, who is 72, (Payton) they have been married for 53 years. They also take care of my older sister Dawn, 52 who has Turner’s Syndrome and she is unable to live on her own. If a family member or just anyone were struggling at all they would contact my parents because they knew they would help, no questions asked. I have struggled myself financially over the past several years due to a bad marriage and bad decisions and they did not hesitate to help me with my burdens. They even helped me put 2 of my 3 kids thru college. With that being said they have depleted their life's savings and retirement. My father should be retired and living life to the fullest, but that is not the case. He has had to find a job that would hire someone his age to be able to support themselves due to no funds available. They have lived in their home for 25 years. Over the past few years they have developed different health issues that has kept them from being able to keep up with the demands of owning a home. They have several issues in the home that need to be addressed but they do not have the funds to be able to hire someone to fix them. One of the biggest issues is that their driveway is on a hill and it has washed out. My father has tried several times thru the years to fix it himself but to no avail. Their vehicle is also in need of repair but again they cannot afford it, this is a huge issue due to being able to transport my mother to her doctors and hospitals.

My parent’s struggles are heartbreaking. Their constant love and faith in God is what keeps me going.

I wanted to set up something that they could utilize for a number of ways so it can best help them the way they need. My "HOPE" for them is to have the funds for my father to be able to quit working to care for my mother, for them to be able to hire someone to fix the home issues, help with medical expenses, travel and just daily living that they should require for the rest of their lives living on this earth without the burden of financial stress....

If you have it in your heart to donate to their cause, please do so. Sharing this post and offering intentional prayers towards my mother's health, mental and emotional well-being are needed as well.

Thank you and God Bless each and every one!!!!
