Hope for Caroline

Update posted by Sarah Bilby On Mar 27, 2016

It is with much sadness that I need to advise that Caroline passed away Saturday morning. She fought so hard and for so long showing such determination and resilience.

Unfortunately she was never well enough to have the surgery despite trying to contain the cancer with chemo and radiotherapy.

I have decided to put the monies raised into a trust for Luke in case he needs anything as he grows up. However I know that this was not what you donated funds for so I will leave this site open for 2 weeks and if you would like a refund please contact me.

Thank you

I feel that had Caroline been well enough for a little longer, perhaps I would have liked to use my donation towards making her comfortable and treating her to days out or to things she had wanted to do for example. But now my sister has passed, I know she would love the idea that some good would come of my donation for Luke. I think she would like Luke to have a trust fund. It’d a good idea xx

Awwww so sorry to hear this, RIP Caroline. Good grief no, I don’t need a refund, I was only too glad to be able to help at the time, whether that was for Caroline herself or her family is all that matters. Love to you all, Tina xxxx

Hi I just wanted to let everyone know that we have extended the date as unfortunately the operation has had to be postponed. The tumour is not as contained as they would like so Caroline is having 12 days of intensive radioTherapy at the end of November then we can send off the scans again and hopefully then she will be accepted for surgery. I would like to thank everyone for all their generosity and will give you an update when I can. Thank you from All the family.

Just to keep you all updated as you have been so kind and generous. The operation has been postponed whilst Caroline has some radiotherapy so we are keeping everything crossed that this will help and she can then have the surgery in December. This gives us a little more time to fund raise which is good news so thank you all again and please spread the word.

I have spoken to all the people who has sponsored through the 7 event last year. All of them are happy not to receive the money back and is thinking of Martin and Luke at the time.

Email I received from a person I work with called Des Cotter: I’m obviously very sad to read of what’s now happened. I won’t be seeking the money back and it’s a good decision to place in a Trust for Caroline’s son. Please pass on my condolences to everyone involved. Take care Des
