Hong Kong Singers 2019-20 season

The Hong Kong Singers is one of the oldest community theatre groups in Hong Kong. We provide opportunities for members of the local community to gain invaluable performance experience and exposure to the performing arts through a multi faceted program of musical events and performances throughout the year.

Each year we provide a range of events for our community all of which are run by volunteers who give generously of their time and talents. In the 2019-20 season we are planning to include the following events:

• Concert Choir Performance @ The Fringe Club (April 2019): approx cost $30,000
• Small Ensemble Musical @ HK Arts Centre (June 2019): approx cost $75,000
• Open Mic Nights (4 per year @ Jaa Bar): approx cost per year $20,000
• Large Cast Musical (2nd quarter) TBC: approx cost $200,000
• HK Community Carols @ The LKF Amphitheatre (Dec 6th 2019): approx cost $40,000
• Workshops for performers (1st Quarter) TBC: approx cost $25,000
• Newly commissioned musical theatre work (early 2020): approx $60,000

We are asking for your help.

Along with the costs involved in the production of the above events our organisation also bares ongoing costs for insurance, accounting, storage, IT (website, social media, newsletters and email), rehearsal space, rights, transport, accompanists, stationary, government registration fees and banking fees amongst others. In the past we have relied on tickets, advertising and membership to cover these ongoing costs. However in recent years, this structure has become increasingly insufficient. To ensure the Hong Kong Singers can continue to provide quality opportunities to Hong Kong’s musical theatre loving community and support our local talent, we are asking for your generous support. Hong Kong Singers is a registered charity so you can be assured that your donation here will go directly to supporting talented choral and musical theatre enthusiasts amongst the Hong Kong community both young and young at heart.
