We are asking for help, no matter how small, to keep a young couple from becoming homeless this Christmas, to give them hope to carry on and stay strong through this tough time.

Anna and Carl were homeless and had to struggle for a long time, they were two young people who lost their jobs and tried to make ends meet however they could when nobody would help.

In July 2014 Anna and Carl found work, they found a room for rent and shortly moved in to a shared house, they were both working at new jobs, finally had somewhere to live and call their home, they were happy, but things soon took a turn for the worst.

They moved into a shared house where they suffered continuous abuse and harassment by the property manager and his wife, they were racially abusive, their food was being thrown out, their clothes thrown away/ bleached, they were not allowed to cook in the shared facilities and any food deliveries were refused. They went as far as to make false allegations against them to the police and did anything they could to run them out of the property, threatening to throw away all their belongings, put locks on the bathrooms and even refusing services such as electricity and gas.The property manager even went as far as assaulting Anna and with no witnesses, nothing was done, he was let off with no consequences to his actions.

They looked for help everywhere.

The council told them they could not help because she was not pregnant so they had no duty to house them.

Legal aid turned them away because it wasn't the landlord committing these offences therefore nobody was liable.

Anna became ill with a severe chest infection, which was only made worse by the mould growing in the premises, this came back 3 times, and her new job eventually let her go.

Carl did not deem it safe to leave her home while he worked because of the attack and lost his job too.

These two young people have been looking for work and trying to find somewhere peaceful to live, they can no longer afford food rent or bare essentials and they desperately need our help.

We would like to raise money to help them find somewhere to live before they are evicted in just a few weeks money for a deposit or to keep them warm and fed until they get back on their feet.

We don't want another two young people on the streets this winter, feeling like they have nowhere to turn and feeling hopeless.

We want to bring some light to these dark times and bring a smile to their faces.

Thank you
