The number of homeless young people on the streets of the North West is a huge worry for me and a group of close friends.

Over the past 12 months, we have dedicated time supporting people who find themselves through no fault of their own. We've been told a huge variety of stories from people younger than ourselves (we're a group of 20-30 year olds) about how they ended up without a home to live in.

On the 1st March 2015, a special report commissioned by Manchester Council found that the number of people living on the streets had risen by nearly 79% in one year. This comes just before a different report revealed the number of homeless people in Manchester had shown a 6 fold increase since 2010.

This project is focused on raising money to provide shelter, clothing, warmth and training to homeless people in the North West in the hope they can slowly rebuild their lives. By raising money we aim to provide homeless people with semi permanent shelter, provide training and support to allow them to be in a position to attain a job and allow them to live their live fully.

The money will also be used in developing preventative methods for young people who may find themselves about to become homeless.

We do not know what may happen in the future, but one day it may be me in that position, and I would hope someone would do the same for me.
