Please help finish the construction of the new home for abandoned elderly in Brazil.
Eight years ago my mother Tania de Almeida Lamounier was volunteering as a nurse and met a group of abandoned sick elderly patients at a nursing home that were being neglected and badly treated, sometimes going with no food, water and medication. When she reported to the authorities on what was happening she was told that those 17 people needed someone to commit to look after them, without hesitation she took that responsibility, and since has been working closely with her community and other volunteers on looking after elderly patients that are homeless or have no family and money left to take care of themselves.
They have always rented the home where they are currently based, but two years ago a local church donated some land where they are building the new home, a place where they will be able to help more people in need.
They are on the final stage of construction, and have no more funds to continue. Whilst the workers building the new home are all volunteers working after hours when they finish their full time jobs they have no more funds to buy the construction materials they need to finalize.
Your donation will be very important to help them complete this phase. Moving into the new home means they can stop paying rent and apply that money to help more people in their community.
Thank you very much in advance, any amount you can donate will make a ruge difference.
