My name is Lee-Ann Nel the soul sister of a beautiful soul named Dominic McSherry. This mother of 3 has been through so much in her young life and yet she always has a smile, always saying things can only get better from here on out. Sadly, this was not true on the 12 July 2020.

The Western Cape was hit by a storm, Wind speeds of 120km + per hour. 20h50 the message came through, "Our house is gone!" The wind blew a tree onto their house, while they were inside. Dominic was trapped in the bathroom, Tyrone, her husband got the kids safely out of the house. With devastated kids, dogs and a wife trapped in the bathroom with 11 puppies he quickly came up with a plan to get them out through a hole he made in the floor.

One by one the pups were brought to safety. Finally Dominic got the courage to climb through the bathroom floor. When we arrived at the scene it was dark and the wind didn't help at all. We gathered the fur kids, human kids and adults and off we went to our home.

The happenings of the night played like a movie in my head. Lying in bed crying, trying to figure out what could be the purpose of this? Why would something so devastating happen in a time like this? Most of all why would this happen to such beautiful souls. Someone that would give her last to another in need.

Then it hit me! This is an opportunity for better things to come, an opportunity for humans to stand together and help where we can. We are in need of all types of donations. Thankfully they have the property.

We are in need of a new home for this family of five. All building materials are welcome. We are in need of house hold items, blankets, clothes. If you are a builder, or have some unwanted house hold things or financial aid.

This is an urgent need. Thank-You to everyone that has been a helping hand. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HUMANITY!

  • Just revisiting the archives and got all teary eyed again, cannot believe so much has happened in the past year & a half. And not just to us but to many, many people. We understand more then ever how important having a support structure is. And you literally became ours. We would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for the support you gave us, as we were literally down and out of luck to say the least. Even now, although still unemployed battling to find a job, we know that it’s not the worst of it because we have a roof overhead our heads. So thank you all ever so much. β€πŸ’“πŸ’›
