Home Away from Home Pet Spa in Monterey California needs our help. Sunday July 5, 2015, Home Away from Home, it's owners, and pet owners suffered a horrible loss when a fire in the building engulfed the room that housed the dogs being boarded for the holiday weekend in thick smoke. The fire started when the owner of the pet spa had been gone for only 1/2 an hour to pick up two dogs for boarding. Upon his arrival he saw smoke, he kicked in the window of the shop, entered the burning building in an attempt to save the animals trapped inside. He ran through fire and smoke to get the back door opened to get the animals some air. 15 dogs lost their lives in this horrible tragedy. The owner of Home Away from Home, Joel Jensen risked his life and ignored the pleas of his daughter begging him not to go into the shop, because he loves every animal he cares for as if they are his own. We are raising funds through this medium to help pay for grievance counseling for the owners that lost their beloved pets in this accident. To help Joel and Terri Jensen and their children Olivia and Jackson with grievance counseling, and to help Joel Jensen begin to attempt to pick up the pieces so that he can re-open this trusted and beloved establishment.
