Ho’s Prosthetic Limb Surgery

Please meet 1 yr old Ho, who has suffered a lifetime of abuse and neglect. Spotted by the Charity’s eagle eyed owners on a Serbian Rescue site, they quickly learned that if Ho was to receive life saving limb surgery they needed to organise an urgent rescue across Europe to bring him to the UK.

Ho was discovered abandoned and tied to a barb wire fence, more horrifyingly he was completely trapped in the barb wire. Unfortunately, his lower leg was deemed untreatable due to infection, severe malnutrition, and the length amount of time with no blood supply. An urgent amputation was performed to save the rest of his leg and his life.

On arrival to the charity he was so frightened he was unable to stand up or even move. But through the charities amazing volunteers who are caring for Ho around the clock, he’s slowly building confidence and restoring his trust in people. They are overjoyed at his progress and can see an amazing personality and a true gentle giant starting to emerge. Thankfully his mental torture is slowly disappearing, but his physical health is rapidly declining. He's in a lot of pain and discomfort due to him trying to walk and run on his leg as it is impossible for him to keep his leg lifted off the ground. He is unable to stay balanced and is constantly falling to the ground ,and causing deep injuries to himself and his stump.

He urgently requires a prosthetic limb and future limb corrections as he continues to grow. Consultations have priced the surgery at £10,000+, which is a huge target for a small charity to raise in the 2 months.
