Hello. I'm asking for your help. I'm Kay Ross, an Australian in Hong Kong. On April 8, 2019, my life changed in an instant when I slipped, fell and fractured my right kneecap. Ouch! I had surgery two days later to wire up the knee, and had to use a leg brace and a cane for 8 weeks.
The kneecap bone has grown back OK, but my knee still isn't bending fully - I can only walk slowly (especially up and down stairs), and I can't run, jump, hop, skip, kneel, squat, crawl, dance the tango... I've been having weekly physiotherapy, but the healing is taking much longer than I expected.
The injury and the slow healing process have seriously affected my energy levels, my positive outlook on life, and my ability to exercise, get out and about, and work.
To make things worse, the protests and violence here in Hong Kong are very worrying, and the unpredictability about how long this situation will continue is very stressful, for me and everyone here. I'm self-employed, and over the past few months my income has dropped considerably because my clients and potential clients are cutting back on their expenses. So my savings are dwindling fast.
Now, after 26 years here, I'm seriously considering leaving Hong Kong and returning to Australia - if I do decide to go, there will be lots of expenses associated with that.
Can you help me? I'd be very grateful for any contribution you can make. I promise you lots of hugs.
P.S. All the amounts for this campaign are in US dollars, not Hong Kong dollars. And I will receive every dollar you donate, even if I don't reach the targeted amount. If you prefer not to pay via PayPal, that's OK - contact me privately and I'll explain other options.
