Help Cliff the Comm See

Meet Clifford (aka Cliff), our dear community cat and a very special neighbour. Overflowing with cuteness and not to mention a playful and friendly nature, he has sparked friendships with hoomans from all over the vicinity. Unfortunately, our dear buddy suffers from a congenital defect called Eyelid Agenesis and is in need of surgery to prevent him from going blind.

For both eyes, Cliff is missing quite a large portion of his upper eyelid, and his lids function abnormally. This causes discomfort and damage in his eyes as his lashes and fur are constantly rubbing and poking into his eyes till the point that his corneas are now scratched. Just imagine having a couple of eyelashes stuck in your eye and no matter what, you cant get them out.... horrible!

As a temporary measure, Cliff has been on daily eye lubricants to slow down the degeneration of his cornea. But ultimately, Cliff needs to undergo this surgical procedure which involves removing a portion of skin from his lip to create a new functional upper eyelid thus providing comfort and protection to the eye. Else, without this surgery, Cliff will continue to struggle with this painful condition and will eventually go blind.

Cliff's surgery with The Eye Specialist For Animals, a veterinary ophthalmological clinic was successfully completed on 4 July 2023. The total cost of this procedure was $6,958.81. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated. Your donation would go towards funding the cost of the specialist consultation, surgery, pre and post-op boarding as well as any necessary post-op care.

Estimated Cost Breakdown:

• Pre-Surgery Specialist Consultation: $318 (completed on 6 Jun 2023)
• Pre-Surgery Blood Test: $252.40 (completed on 16 Jun 2023)
• Surgery: $6,958.81 (completed on 4 Jul 2023)
• Boarding (Post Op): $1,414.91 (quote for 28 days. Pending final invoice in about 4-5 wks time.)
• Post Op Follow Up Consultation: $380 (2 sessions)
• Post Op Medication: $TBC
• Transport to and fro to Clinic: $200 (~10 trips)

Total: $9,307.12 +/-

You may find the invoices uploaded here once available. Do note that there might be additional fees from post-op care, etc but should there be excess donations, rest assured that we will use it for Cliff's food/ medical.
