Campaign Story
This campaign is aimed at helping me get a laptop for my studies. I'm Lungelo Shandu,a 22 year old male born and raised by divorced parents. My mother and father are both teachers, so I grew up in a lower Middle class upbringing (I live with my mother, my dad lives somewhere else) with three siblings, all of which are supported by both parents. I'm a geography and environmental management student doing his third year at University of KwaZulu-Natal. On the 5th of June 2017, two men came into our commune, held us at gunpoint and stole my laptop(hp comaq) , hard drive(500 GB SD hard drive) ,my cellphone(huawei g510) , my tablet(Vodafone vd1100) and a few other items. The problem is that my family can barely pay my school fees and my accommodation(I'm not smart enough to get a bursary but I'm not dumb either), getting the things that were stolen required years of saving(I saved up for years to buy my phone, tablet and hard drive). Both my parents have taken loans for school fees and accommodation , the burden of adding to these items is heavy but I need a laptop at the very least for studying, the rest I can live without. I have tried applying for NSFAS funding but I've been rejected for three years. I'm currently looking for part time jobs to do but extra financial help is always welcome and needed.
