A warrior mother of a non-verbal autistic boy in Zagreb, Croatia, is aiming to send her eight-year-old to receive groundbreaking Immunotherapy in Kiev, Ukraine, and hopes to raise the funds required to cover the 40,000 EUR costs and other related fees.

Little Vito has autism and a range of autoimmune conditions, including inflammatory bowel disease, Pans and autoimmune encephalitis. As he is still unable to speak, Vito requires full-time assistance from his mother for basic everyday tasks such as using the bathroom, getting dressed, and during mealtimes. He regularly experiences periods in which his immune system attacks itself, rendering him unable to sit still, and causing complex facial and vocal ticks, spitting, and heightened irritability.

Vito’s mother, Maja, left her career and dedicated herself completely to improving her disabled son’s quality of love. Despite experimenting with both traditional and alternative medicines, homeopathy, and a full spectrum of different therapies, and training herself in many alternative medicines and various therapies, little Vito has shown no sign of improvement. After exhausting her savings, Maja is yet to find any relief or solutions for her little boy in Croatia.

Thanks to the help of specialit parent groups and different online communities which deal with autism in children, Maja found out about the groundbreaking results by Dr Maltsev from Ukraine, and how this is helping autistic children in other regions. She has launched a crowdfunding campaign with the hope of raising 40,000 EUR, which will allow her to take Vito to Kiev, Ukraine, where he can receive immunoglobulin therapies, carried out by specialists in this field. She hopes that a combined therapy including antiviral medicines, autoimmune treatments and nootropics, will allow Vito’s immune system to begin regulating itself - something which will provide him with much-needed relief.

“My only wish is for Vito to become more comfortable and free from pain”, she says. “Please donate generously, and help me raise these much-needed funds for a little boy who will greatly benefit from them”.

Little Vito is barely able to eat the kinds of food that other children take for granted, and he has never experienced the simple pleasure of a soft drink or a lolly. He is even unable to eat bread, cake, or the kind of healthy takeaway food that other children enjoy as part of a normal and balanced diet. Such foods leave him in extreme pain, resulting in him being in agony. His mother has to keep a watchful eye on his diet, carefully regulating what he eats and drinks to minimise his discomfort and prevent any bowel obstructions. What’s more, Vito has to take multiple different pills and medicines every single day in order to function, and for him, taking such pills has become a normal part of his life - he has never known things to be any other way.

“It seems that no matter where you go in Croatia, so little treatment is given to children on the autism spectrum. They are left to suffer without any lasting help”, Maja says. The lack of help or expertise in Croatia is the principal reason why Maja seeks to take Vito to Ukraine, and place him under dr. Maltsev's care.

The first medical care Vito received outside of Croatia has proven to be very successful. Dr. Arthur Krigsman had successfully diagnosed Vito's gastrointestinal problems, starting with ulcers and numerous inflammation in his intestines that all other doctors failed to recognize. Thanks to Dr. Krigsman's therapy, Vito is feeling better and he's well equipped to make this travel to Ukraine. This therapy is ongoing and won't interfere with medications that Vito is expected to receive under Dr. Maltsev's care.

“One day”, she claims, “I just hope he can function independently, and without needing constant support”.
