Campaign Story
To crowdfund disability adaptions to a home. Violet was victim of chemical poisoning over twenty years by a series of extreme adverse reactions to tablets prescribed by her GP (commonly prescribed anti depressants and tranquilisers). This caused seizures, debilitating pain throughout the body, chronic fatigue and damage to the central nervous system. Violet needs to adapt her home to avoid losing her home altogether and her independence. Her story was covered by the BBC.
She needs to adapt her kitchen by moving an internal wall and opening up a wall to form an open plan arrangement in order to move around with ease. Also to form a disability parking bay at the back of her garden, new windows, and lowering the garden so she can have easy access to a green space. Violet also needs space for carer accommodation which could be made in the loft and converting the garage into an art therapy room.
There is no state funding for this debilitating and poorly understood condition.
