Help us inspire a generation with a lifeline while keeping our legacy alive

The essence of a good legacy is one that is normally passed down through generations with an ease that is almost effortless.

It is always activated by a common belief in the same values, principles, and ideas on how a certain business, property, ideal, or any other form of asset shall be utilized by the future generations. Whether it is a torch that is to be carried and kept burning

My grandfather in his adoration and respect for his country answered the call of duty to serve and went on to fight in the Korean War. Coming back home afterwards, he retired to his large acreage of land and became a farmer in the same area he grew up in, all of which happened years ago. He planted pecan trees, peanuts, cotton, vegetables and other plants in addition to rearing pigs, cows, horses, chickens, roosters, and goats. There was always something going on within the farm which was being optimized to offer extensive produce and animal products for both local consumption and sale to neighboring towns. He was also always finding a way to help people be it by hiring them, feeding them, or even mentoring their children.

Granddad later left this land to his children who then left it to their children ( us ) I can say that we have had the pleasure of following in grandpa’s footsteps to include serving the country! I have personally done several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and sadly witnessed the dire situation in certain areas where parents were unable to grow or purchase food to care for their young ones. This resulted in childhood starvation and families grieving daily over what seemed to be an unending cycle of poverty as generations upon generations were unfortunately caught in this ensnaring trap no thanks also to the war. Coming back home, I was all the more driven to be a difference-maker and not be a by-stander while people suffer, and was lucky enough to receive support from my family some of whom are veterans such as myself.

Which brings us to the land we inherited that is in an unincorporated rural area and is currently a large parcel of underdeveloped land. That as well as our new mission to empower a community! Over the years, grandpa’s land - as we so affectionately refer to it - has not been fully tended to use to its vast size. With the economic conditions not being favorable and the transitions that have occurred over time, it is expensive to maintain ongoing farming operations to optimize and this has caused so many issues especially to the community that the land had so generously supported years ago. We also recognize that there are matters that require immediate attention from inadequate manpower to the need to automate in some operations.

However, our primary concern is for the welfare of the children in the community in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. You see, some of the parents of these children do not have vehicles to get to the nearest whole food store that is approximately 25 miles away, not to imagine the risk that such travels present when they all have to go to the same store. As a result, some of the children may be lacking the nutrients they need daily by consuming foods as basic as vegetables, fruits, nuts, and berries. And we all know that when they are not eating right, this could result to malnutrition that may in turn lead to weak immune systems and learning disabilities. It is with the undeterred dedication to make sure that the community grandpa grew up in and so deeply cared for gets to once again benefit from this land that we implore you to find it in your heart to help us revive this land. This, we hope, is our destined legacy.

We believe that with your kind and most generous contributions, we will be able to start by clearing and preparing the land for farming. After all, doesn’t every great journey begin with that first step? Our plans also include adding several greenhouses, preparing the soil that needs to be treated for planting, purchasing a tractor for plowing, reviving an old spring on the land, and incorporating an irrigation system for watering the field. There is also no nearby park for the children and we plan on setting aside a playground to help in their development while keeping them active, in addition to building several classes to propagate our aim of teaching the community on how to plant and preserve food.

Also onboard this amazing vision is an Agriculture Professor at a local university who is willing to allow his students to intern in our land by farming and helping teach the community for extra classroom credit!! This is truly such a humbling investment and stamp of approval! Our promise is that every penny given will be used wisely. We invite you to support our passion-driven cause and be part of a great revolution that will transform lives.

Thank you so much for believing in us and sharing this worthy cause with loved ones. It means the world!
